humanities teacher — full or part-time

We are looking for a talented educator to teach language arts and social studies to any grade or combination of grades between 1st – 6th, depending on different factors including final class configurations and the strengths and preferences of the new hire.

This person should be skilled in designing and teaching hands-on curriculum and have at least 1 year of teaching experience as a lead teacher. A teaching credential is preferred but not required. Primary duties include:

• actively instructing students

• creating engaging lesson plans for a body of diverse learners

• managing students in the classroom and on the playground

• communicating with parents

• assessing students growth and progress throughout the year.

There are possibilities for half day teaching, 4 days a week at minimum and 5 days avbweek at maximum (if the hire is interested in participating in the school’s elective program on Fridays. There may also be opportunities for substitute teaching and/or tutoring.
